The vines climb to an elevation of between 380 and 450 meters on slopes which afford a magnificent south-southwest exposure.
They benefit from exceptional conditions: plenty of sun and marked temperature variations between day and night combine to give a slow and harmonious ripening of the grapes helping ensure a fine balance between acidity and phenolic maturity.
On the higher ground, clay-limestone soils are predominant, while the lower areas mainly consist of schists which contribute to the minerality of the blends.
